Day 14: Sunday 23rd May 2010
Today was the first day of rest for the team and the boys. They all awoke in gorgeous Byron Bay in northern NSW, with nothing more to do than enjoy the beautiful beaches, cafes and sunshine.
Day 13: Saturday 22nd May 2010
The support crew change over has occurred. The Cooktown to Surfers Paradise team; Elliot Costello, Jess Whitby, Kylie Wallace Alby Tomassi and Barry Read have all arrived safely back in Melbourne after a huge and very successful 12 days on the ‘Three States of Mind’ campaign.
Day 12: Friday 21st May 2010
Day twelve was a day of doubles. Our team was required to hit both Brisbane and Surfers in the one day, thus requiring the boys to ride two major legs and our campaign team to have media ready on both fronts.
Day 11: Thursday 20th May 2010
Our eleventh day started with a few sleep ins – and rightly so as the riders, the support team and the campaign team have now had 12 days away with no day of rest!
Day 10: Wednesdsay 19th May 2010
Koorawatha Homestead. Little did we know when the boys left this above average accommodation in the middle of nowhere somewhere between Rockhampton and Miriam Vale, mid-Queensland on the morning of Wed 18th May, it was going to be there toughest encounter with the relentless Aussie roads yet.
Day 9: Tuesday 18th May 18 2010
We started this sun shining Queensland day bright and early (the entire team up at 6am for a change). Although Alby was struggling with the early rise due to a late night practical joke which involved him being locked on the hotel balcony in a towel for over 20mins! ha – jokes on him.
Day 8: Monday 17th May 2010
Mid-Queensland and the weather is changing!! Marlborough for all its highs (one pub, one petrol station and one caravan park) did not produce the weather experienced in far-north Queensland.
Day 7: Sunday 16th May 2010
A day of segmented events can only best describe Day 7 of the Three States of Mind Tour.
Day 6: Saturday 15th May 2010
The start of day 6 of Jasper and Nat’s epic 4,200 journey down the east coast saw us waking in the Bowen Castle Motel. After checking out the motel we headed out through the draw bridge, over the moat and into the sweet seaside air, adjacent to the northern tip of the Whitsundays.
Day 5: Friday 14th May 2010
Today was a day of learning! After only 40mins out on route Natty blew yet another tyre, and it was a mad rush for Elliot and Sarah to assist the boys and get them back on their bikes. After the amazing assistants trekked back into Townsville, we all packed the cars and hit the road.
